Proposed solution for my university logo

This is how I proposed a solution for my university logo a few years ago. The challenge was that the university got a new name from the government, and ended up with two logos - see further down. I suggested combining the two logos, by changing the text in Ulf Dreyers fantastic Raven logo, like seen here. I also removed the circle around the ravens to utilize the gestalt principle in the negative space. The text was proposed changed to a none seriffed typeface.  This solution was presented to the university Communication department (KSA), but it was decided that "UiT" had to be a part of the text in the circle, hence the logo we have now.
The originally proposed solution for the logo in the norwegian-, english- and sámi language.
This was the two logos, or "signature" and logo. It was not ideal, and confusing to the public. I proposed to let the text in the signature replace the text in the Raven logo - to gather the two logos into one unified logo, as seen at the top of this concept presentation. The abbreviation "UiT" could be presented with the relevant URL: "uit.no". I did not recommend using "UiT" in the text circle, because the university now had many campuses where the UiT abbreviation didn't work. I concluded that adding "UiT" into the logo text would make the job to unify the organization more challenging.
